Lobsters on the Sound is a few short days away on Tuesday, August 3rd. This laid back, boat casual event features a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres from many local restaurants, a Downeast style lobster bake, live and silent auctions and music and dancing under the stars at the home of Harbor House Board Member and patron, Jackie Montfort’s home, Invermeade, on Fernald Point Road in Southwest Harbor.
This year’s auction will certainly be unique. Thirteen local artists have been selected to create one-of-a-kind artworks using Adirondack chairs as their canvas. These chairs are sure to be the glue that holds together the silent auction theme; Summer Home and Garden. These unique works of art will be displayed in businesses around downtown Southwest Harbor for the community to enjoy July 19th-30th. To pre-bid view the Lobsters on the Sound event page.
Other special works of art include "the Newport Chair" a true example of artistry in wood from Maine's premier craftsman Thos. Moser. To view the chair click here.
