Every year in March, Junior High and High School basketball players from all over Maine gather on Mt. Desert Island and in Trenton to compete for the winner’s title in the Great Harbor House Shootout. This hugely popular event has grown from a small group of 7 local teams in l992 to an exciting 3-day event with 70 participating teams. There’s no other program like it in all of Maine.
With four divisions of play for girls and boys, our three-day tournament gives young people the opportunity to compete, excel and develop invaluable life lessons and sportsmanship skills.
