 Harbor House Children's Center, the first licensed childcare center on Mount Desert Island, has been serving families since 1986. We provide quality care and early education for children ages 30 months (18 months beginning September 8) to 5 years, whose parents live or work on MDI.

WHAT ELSE TO EXPECT
Regularly scheduled special activities include weekly visits to the library, weekly fitness fun in our spacious movement room, weekly tumbling classes and frequent activities in Spanish and American Sign Language.
WHO WE ARE
Our staff has a combined total of over six decades in the early care and education field. Center Director Mary Ellen Martel, with more than twenty years in the field, has been with the Children’s Center since 1992. All members of the staff are committed professionals. Each teacher takes a minimum of 30 hours per year of classes in the Early Childhood field and all are CPR and First Aid certified.
